Wild or black rice comes from Canada, has a special characteristic smell and taste and its dark color is due to the high concentration of antioxidants. It has a hard texture and needs about 30 minutes to cook.


We suggest mixing it with yellow parboiled rice which you will cook separately from the black and use it to make a spiced pilaf with which you can accompany other dishes but you can cook it as a main meal. The classic way of cooking is very easy, all you need is a little water and salt and if you want to give it a sweet, spicy, smoky taste, use the appropriate spices.


In which recipes do we use wild black rice

Mix the black or wild rice with the yellow parboiled to make a spiced pilaf and accompany all the meats, burgers, poultry, meatballs, sausages. Mix it with mushrooms, fresh vegetables, fruits, legumes, bacon and flavor with spices such as ginger, cardamom, curry, star anise, saffron or add Asian, Indian or hot spices. Make sushi, fried rice, sprinkle with garlic or mix it with legumes and arborio that you will make separately. To give it exotic notes add milk or coconut sugar. Add it to salads with green vegetables or accompany seafood such as shrimp.
