Tapioca starch is a white powder in the form of grated powder, odorless and tasteless. It is a plant product, comes from the root of cassava plant, has the capacity to absorb water and act as a thickening agent in cooking and baking. It is used in aqueous sweet and savory recipes as a stabilizer, to give them elasticity and to bind them. It behaves like corn flour but the absorption capacity of the liquids added is much greater.


Where to use tapioca starch

Mix 1-2 tablespoons of tapioca starch in cold water and use it into salty and sweet recipes. Add it to sauces, puddings and soups to help them bind or thicken. Make tapioca starch bread, cakes, pancakes, muffins, chocolate soufflé, keeping in mind that it will not make them particularly puffy. Also use it to add a crisp texture to your fried dishes. It contains Tapioca starch, 98% water.
