Mustard is a condiment made from the seeds of the mustard plant, ranging from white or yellow mustard seeds to brown or black. The whole, ground, cracked or bruised mustard seeds are combined with water, salt, lemon juice, other liquids and most of the times other flavorings and spices, to create a paste or sauce ranging in color from bright yellow to dark brown. Mustard's intensity also may range from sweet to spicy. 

Mustard as a paste is commonly paired with meats and cheeses but also with sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, corn dogs and hot dogs. It is regularly used in salads as a dressing, soups and many other dishes. 

As a condiment, mustard is very common in India and Bangladesh, the Mediterranean, northern and southern Europe, Asia, America and Africa, making it one of the most popular and widely used spice in the entire world.
