Brown rice has retained its husk and is responsible for its golden-earth color. It is hard rice and takes a long time to cook compared to other rice. Ideal for pilaf. The texture it leaves does not resemble the parboiled rice we are used to using for pilaf. It has a spiral texture, slightly sticky. We suggest adding spices to flavor, anise, paprika or curry. Brown rice is used either as a main dish or as an accompaniment to others.


How to use brown paddy rice in recipes

Add 1 part brown rice to a saucepan with 6 parts boiling water. After 30 minutes strain it and cover for 10 minutes and then serve. Use brown rice in salads or accompany all meats, burgers, poultry, meatballs, sausages. Mix it with fresh vegetables, legumes, bacon and flavor with spices such as curry and star anise, saffron or add Asian, Indian or hot spices.
