Argon oil or arganic oil is derived from the seeds of an exotic fruit of Argania spinosa planted in Morocco. Argania is a genus of plants to which the known argon tree belongs to, reaches 8-10 m in height and has a lifespan of 200 years. It has little yellow green flowers and its fruits need more than a year to grow. They fall in July and contain seeds of rich oil. The tree oil is mainly produced by women’s cooperatives in Morocco and is considered a luxury item. Argon oil is one of the best oils for the manufacture of hand-made cosmetics and care products for face, nails and hair. The cosmetics industries use it widely for the preparation of shampoos, creams, and beauty masks.
