Tomatoes to dry, leave in the sun, evaporate all their liquids, lose most of their weight, shrink and add salt. So we can enjoy them all year round in a variety of recipes. Sun-dried tomatoes are delicious, crimson, very easy to use and we consume them at any time.

To soften them, boil them on low heat for about an hour, depending on how dehydrated they are. Once they boil and drain, place them in a jar with olive oil or corn oil. If we want to flavor them, we add a hot pepper or a clove of garlic, rosemary, or thyme or any other spice of our choice. If they are too soft we do not boil them we can just rinse them and soak them a little.


How to use sun-dried tomatoes in recipes

  • We put them in sandwiches
  • We throw them in green salads, in salads with legumes, in salads with cold pasta.
  • We make omelets
  • We make sauces, pesto, chutney and dips
  • We put them in the dough for bakery products, eg breadsticks and bread
  • We make tomato meatballs
  • After we cut them into small pieces, we mix them with pasta, spaghetti, penne, tagliatelle, barley, we make pasta souffle
  • We use them to make decor and give color to dishes with fish, meat, chicken.
  • We throw them in the garlic
